New! Close the Gap: Educator and Community Guides
Two new companion guides to the tpt Close the Gap series, developed by the University of Minnesota Human Rights Center, foster dialogue to learn more about and work to overcome disparities. The guides summarizes major points from the series, and provide surveys, discussion questions and suggested activities to better understand disparities and its causes, and to take action to end them.
Educator Guide: for teachers working with youth in grades 8-12.
Community Guide: For Human Rights Commissioners, community leaders and other community organizers.

Meda Business Development Services
MEDA’s  mentor program aims to give minority business owners the change to benefit from the knowledge and experience of Twin Cities CEOs and other corporate executives as well as other minority entrepreneurs.

Area Learning Center
Provides after-school tutoring to at-risk children in St. Paul.

Mentor an ex-offender
Hennepin County Adult Corrections offers volunteer opportunities to mentor ex-offenders.

Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless
Provides a number of ways to raise awareness and take action as an individual, group, service provider or elected official.

Minnesota Housing Partnership
Provides an "advocacy toolbox" with information about state and local representatives and guidelines for writing to legislators, definitions of terms It provides advocacy alerts and tools to take action on housing issues of concern.

Resources for Child Care
Using the best resources from the early childhood field, Resources for Child Care provides tools and services that strengthen parents and caregivers.

Respite child care
Care for a child in your home while parents attend to a family crisis.

Project for Pride in Living (PPL)
Help to provide a variety of services to job-seekers including tutoring adults to get their GED, providing mock job interviews and job coaching.

Transit for Livable Communities
Gives information on alternative modes of transportation including mass transit, carpooling, walking and biking.

Twin Cities RISE!
Trains unemployed and under-employed workers for employment. Mostly serves people Of Color. Become a recruitment partner or help spread the word about this program.

WomenVenture
Provides a variety of services and classes to women entrepreneurs including assistance writing a business plan, learning how to obtain a business loan, job coaching and support/networking groups. Volunteer as a trainer, a consultant, or a business panel member.

The Case for Change

Produced in partnership with The Itasca Project, this series examines the widening gaps between Minnesotans.The documentary is a series of five 30 minute episodes plus a 60 minute retrospective.

The entire series is available to community members on one DVD. The Itasca Project has underwritten the cost, therefore the DVD including shipping, is free of charge.
