Cities in crisis: A Special analytic report on high school graduation Educational Projects in Education Research Center, April 2008, 14 pp. Examines graduation rates in the school districts serving the nation's 50 most-populous cities as well as the larger metropolitan areas in which they are situated, including Minneapolis. Results show that graduation rates are considerably lower in the nation's largest cities than they are in the average urban locale.
What matters for staying on-track and graduating in Chicago Public High Schools Consortium on Chicago School Research at the University of Chicago, July 2007, 68 pp. According to this study, the two best predictors of whether or not a ninth-grader will graduate from high school on time are the student's attendance rate and grade point average.
