Attendance rates
Attendance data from the 1993-1994 school year to the present available by district, school and grade for public schools in Minnesota. Click on the document titled "Attendance Rates".

College Enrollment
Enrollment numbers for Minnesota public and private post-secondary institutions are available by gender and race 1996 to the present.

Confidence in the public school system
Metropolitan State University's Civic Confidence Survey measures residents' confidence in the region's public schools. Summary results for 1999 through the present are available. To view, reference the report section titled "Education".

Dropout rates
Dropout rates from the 2000-2001 school year to the present are available by district, race, gender and free and reduced-price lunch status. Overall dropout rates are available from the 1991-1992 school year.

Educational attainment for adults age 25 and over is featured in the Demographics section of the Twin Cities Compass web site. Data are available by county, race, gender and poverty status from 1990 to the present.

High school graduation rate--alternative calculation methods
Besides the National Governors Association rate (featured in the Education Section as a Key Measure), there are three additional ways to measure high school graduation: AYP Rate, Statewide District Completion Rate and Original 9th Grade Completion rate.

MCA II scores
The MCA II test is administered in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 11 to identify whether or not students are meeting state standards in math and reading. District-level results are available for 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Mobility
Student mobility is measured by the Mobility Index, which is calculated based on student transfers. County, district and school-level data are available for the 1997-2007 school year.

National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), State Profiles
Also called the “Nation’s Report Card” the NAEP is the only nationally representative and continuing annual assessment of America's students in various subject areas. Four of these subjects (mathematics, reading, science, and writing) are reported at the state level for grades 4 and 8. Since NAEP assessments are administered uniformly using the same sets of test booklets across the nation, NAEP results serve as a common metric for all states and selected urban districts. School readiness
Information about the Minnesota School Readiness Study and results from the 2003, 2004 and 2006 studies are available online.

ACT scores and participation rates
Minnesota state-level data are available by race and other student characteristics from 1999 to the present.

College Results Online, The Education Trust
Using the interactive database College Results Online, users can examine graduation rates by race, ethnicity and gender at most four-year colleges and universities in the nation, compare the graduation rates for groups across similar institutions, or design a comparison. Features data from the U.S. Department of Education’s Graduation Rate Survey.

EdWatch State Reports, The Education Trust
These reports examine how students in each state are doing on NAEP and state-specific assessments, where achievement gaps exist, levels of high school and college participation and attainment, and the “opportunity gaps” from measures of teacher quality, curricular rigor and more.

Minnesota Student Survey data
The Minnesota Student Survey (MSS) is administered every three years to students in grades 6, 9 and 12. It asks questions about a variety of attitudes, including feelings about school and perceptions of school safety. The survey also asks questions about health and drug use behaviors. Data are available by state, region and county for 2004 and 2007.

School and district report cards
Offers a comprehensive look at data and performance measures for all of Minnesota’s public schools beginning with the 2007-08 school year. Users can see all information for an entire school and compare against other schools within the state. Includes data on “Minnesota’s growth model,” which tracks the same students' progress toward proficiency on standardized tests from year-to-year.
